About
Victorious Faith McLeod (b. 1993, Hollywood) is a figurative painter, writer and filmmaker. He has a bachelor’s degree in Film from the University of Central Florida.
As a Black figurative artist, my work aims to explore the complexities and nuances of Black life and culture. Drawing on my own experiences as a Black man in America, I seek to capture the beauty and resilience of Blackness, while also acknowledging the challenges and traumas that come with it.
Through my paintings and films, I strive to create a dialogue around issues of identity, mental health, and social justice, while celebrating Black life's joy and vibrancy. I believe that art has the power to both reflect and shape the world around us, and I am committed to using my creative voice to contribute to positive change.
My work often references themes from Black history, literature, and mythology, as well as the iconography of popular culture. I am particularly interested in the intersections of Christianity, science fiction, and Black American history, and often use these themes to explore the liminal spaces between the real and the imaginary.
